Dear Parent/Carer

We would like to thank you all for your support over the weekend and today as we try to contain this sickness virus.
We are aware that many parents have kept their children off school today as a precaution and we really appreciate this.

In accordance with both NHS and City of Edinburgh Council guidelines the following control measures have been put in place:
• All trips and after school clubs have been cancelled
• We are restricting our visitors to essential ones only
• We have cancelled all cross class/stage groups i.e. gather rounds and One Planet groups
• The children all had indoor breaks in both the morning and at lunchtime – although most teachers took their classes outside to run around at different times of the day.

Our cleaners were in early this morning and have cleaned all desks, handles and doors as well as the bathrooms with Milton and have done this again after school this afternoon. We have also had additional cleaners in school throughout the day who have cleaned the bathrooms again after both break and lunch. This level of cleaning will continue for the rest of the week.

We are hopeful that by following this policy so rigidly and with the support we have received from parents we now have the situation under control, minimising the impact on all the Christmas activities planned for the next couple of weeks. Although, please note that we may have to change the dates of the P1 nativity performances but we will advise you of this nearer the time.

A letter from the NHS Health Protection Team is attached. We are in close contact with them and they are confident that we are taking all of the precautions necessary to control this outbreak.

NHS Norovirus Letter 4 Dec 17

Thank you again for your continued support
Kind regards
