School’s Out for Summer
It’s finally here! I hope you all have a fantastic break over the summer. I have really enjoyed my year at Corstorphine and look forward to seeing you all again after the holidays. I would also like to wish the P7s the very best for their future and I hope they will stay in touch.
Are some comments from some of our P7s;
‘I have thoroughly enjoyed P7 and it has been one of my favourite years!’
‘I am enjoying P7 and I was really looking forward to the beach this week. I remember when I was in P1 and my buddy said to me “The beach trip in P7 is amazing – you will really enjoy it!” ‘
‘We have had an eventful week in P7. I was looking forward to it from P1! Every day has a new and fun thing to do. The week is a blast!’
‘The show went really well and the beach was exciting. The last week of P7 will be really quite sad…’
One Planet Groups
We will be running 28 One Planet Groups next year that range from gardening to school newspaper, global citizen to food technology and lots of others in between! Previous information has come home through Parent Pay but we would love parents to join our groups and support us. The groups meet eight times over the whole year for an hour each session. Please contact the office if you would like further details.
The Road Safety One Planet Group have been hard at work plotting where vehicles can and cannot park around the immediate area of school. Their next task is to look at the streets further away that can be used for park and stride. Information will be put on the website in due course for both parents and visitors.
Our current JRSOs are currently recruiting two new P5 JRSOs to join them. Successful applicants through to the interview stage will be notified by Thursday. Interviews will be held in the 2nd week after the holidays.
If you have not already done so, please set up your ParentPay account as soon as possible as you are missing important end of term information. Please let the School Office know if you need another copy of your activation codes. Also, if you have more than one child at the school please ensure you “add” any other children to your account. Each child will have their own unique activation code. Once the account has been set up ParentPay will send you an email confirming your account. Please verify your account by opening the email.
Lunches in the new term
Although the building works are expected to be complete by the end of the summer holidays we intend to continue providing school packed lunches for the first two weeks back i.e. week beginning Wednesday 16th August 2017 and week beginning Monday 21st August 2017.
We are hoping to be in a position to offer hot lunches from week beginning Monday 28th August 2017 but will contact you all nearer the time to confirm this. We will send a paper copy of the menu home with the children when we return after the holidays.
Currently it is not possible to place an order for school lunches for next term on ParentPay but we will open up the online ordering process for next session shortly, so that you can order lunches online as normal. The deadline for ordering a lunch for week beginning Wednesday 16th August is midnight on Wednesday 9th August and for week beginning Monday 21st August it is midnight on Wednesday 16th August.
Lining up next session
We will send a correspondence home from the home on the first inservice day to give notification of where classes will line up in the playground.
French Phrase of the Week
