End of year statements

We hope everyone enjoyed reading the end of year statements. Profiles should have been returned today. Any outstanding profiles should be returned on Monday. Thank you

Parent Pay

If you have not already done so, please set up your ParentPay account asap as you are missing important end of term information. Please let the School Office know if you need another copy of your activation codes. Also, if you have more than one child at the school please ensure you “add” any other children to your account. Each child will have their own unique activation code. Once the account has been set up ParentPay will send you an email confirming your account. Please verify your account by opening the email.

Lunches in the new term

Although the building works are expected to be complete by the end of the summer holidays we intend to continue providing school packed lunches for the first two weeks back i.e. week beginning Wednesday 16th August 2017 and week beginning Monday 21st August 2017.

We are hoping to be in a position to offer hot lunches from week beginning Monday 28th August 2017 but will contact you all nearer the time to confirm this.  We will send a paper copy of the menu home with the children when we return after the holidays.

Currently it is not possible to place an order for school lunches for next term on ParentPay but we will open up the online ordering process for next session shortly, so that you can order lunches online as normal.  The deadline for ordering a lunch for week beginning Wednesday 16th August is midnight on Wednesday 9th August and for week beginning Monday 21st August it is midnight on Wednesday 16th August.

Just a reminder that school milk payment for next term is now due and should be paid via Parentpay. Please pay by Tuesday 27th June.

Whole School Photo

The deadline for Tempest (whole school) photograph orders is Tuesday 27th June. We are unable to accept any photograph orders after Tuesday. Parents will be able to order directly from Tempest but postage costs will be incurred.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers

Please remember to hand in Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers by Tuesday. Miss Grant has been compiling a list of kitchen goods to help furnish our new kitchen area.

Class News

P2 had a Food Technology afternoon on Wednesday afternoon, where they learned about healthy food choices and fruit, food hygiene and safety. They had a rotation round three classrooms making fruit kebabs, preparing fruit for smoothies and nutribullets. We had the smoothie bike where children pedal to create the power to power the smoothie maker. Miss Doran worked with ICT and had children on IPads and computers.

We had a first class P7 helper Finlay Francey making milk shakes!

The children tasted lots of exciting fruits

P3 have been learning about Food and Farming this week. The children worked in three groups and created fruit kebabs, chopped up vegetable and made dips and also went to visit the Library Garden to weed the beds and then plant out the crops they have been growing in class. If you are visiting the Library over the summer, please feel free to help us keep on top of the weeds so as our crops will grow!

We have received a compliant form a St Margaret’s Park dog walker who stated that “there was an accident waiting to happen as people are driving into the park far too fast as well as deserting their cars inappropriately and inconsiderately.”  She noted that this happens regularly and sometimes she approaches the driver to ask them to move their cars.  I urge parents to be considerate to others when parking at drop off and pick up times.

Health Care Plans, Med Forms and Asthma Forms

If your child has an existing Health Care Plan or form for Asthma or medication, please look out for new forms coming home today. These should be completed and handed in, along with new, clearly labelled medication, at start of next term. All medication kept in school this session must be uplifted before the school end next Friday; any left will, under CEC policy, be destroyed.

French Phrase of the Week

The phrase this week is Bonne Vacances!

Which means Enjoy the Holidays!
