I am delighted to announce that our new Depute Head Teacher Mrs Bracewell will be starting on Monday.

We will also be joined by four new teachers next session; Miss Whyte, Miss Mair, Mr Stannett and Miss Lofthouse.

This session we have had the pleasure of hosting an MA3 student Miss Horne who has worked tirelessly throughout the school. I would like to thank her for all her hard work and support this year and look forward to welcoming her back next session for her final year.

Next session we will be joined by Miss Boyle, another MA3 student.

P6 Bikeability

Primary 6 pupils have been out and about learning how to cycle safely on the roads. P6B pupils have completed their course, P6A and P6C have one more session to complete next week. The pupils are becoming much more confident in simple manoeuvres and road sense.

A big thank you go to our parent volunteers Mrs Moira McDonald and Mrs Lynn Moir who undertook the training and have helped deliver the lessons. It would not have been possible without them.

If any parents/ carers are keen cyclists and would be interested in being trained to help deliver Bikeability in the future, please contact Ms Cavanagh.

End of year statements

Throughout this session Corstorphine Primary have been engaged in a new form of reporting to parents.  We have been using our Learning Profiles to share examples of the children’s work and progress throughout the session.  We recently asked that the children self-reflect upon their progress and return their End of Session Review to school.  This part of the process has now been followed by the teachers writing their End of Session Report.  The End of Session Report can be found in Section 8 of the Learning Profile.

Learning Profiles are being sent home today.  Please take time to read and discuss the End of Year Report with your child/ren.  The copy that is in colour is to be left inside the Learning Profile, however, we have included an additional black and white copy, which you are welcome to remove for your own records.

We kindly request that the Learning Profiles are sent back to school by Friday 23rd June.
