Mrs Henderson has been away at Lagganlia this week with our P7s and so the blog this week is completed by Mrs Bracewell and Mrs Gillies!
Please have a look at the school website to read the P7 blog from Lagganlia and to see some wonderful photographs of them having an amazing time!
Meet the Teacher
Next Thursday is our Meet the Teacher evening. This will begin at 6.45pm-7.00pm in the Lantern Hall where we will hear about the Corstorphine Vision for the coming year. After that we will be running two sessions in classrooms. The first session will take place from 7.05-7.35pm and the second from 7.45-8.15pm. This will include a 10-15 minute presentation by staff and then an opportunity to look at some resources. We really hope you will join us for this event.
We are loving our new nursery environment and playing with the exciting new toys and equipment! The children are settling into the new routines and are looking forward to starting group times next week.
Road Traffic Survey
Primary 4/5c, P5a and P5b visited St John’s Road on Thursday afternoon to conduct a survey linked to their Transport project. This included categorising different forms of transport, identifying how many people were travelling, looking at the use of the pavements and developing their mathematics skills. Well done!
As you will be aware we use ‘Loose Materials’ play during school time and the children also have access to this at lunch time. They are used to develop problem-solving, creativity, collaborative learning skills as well as it being really good fun! These are stored across from the Jungle Gym. Please could we ask that the children do not use these before or after school.
Next week our P4-7 pupils will have the opportunity to go over to the park at lunch time. We are grateful to the parents who have volunteered to support this. Children may bring outdoor shoes in a bag that they can change into after lunch and leave their school shoes in the bike shed whilst over in the park.
Monday – P4, Tuesday – P6, Wednesday – P5 and Thursday – P7.
Last night the PTA held a recruitment evening in school. It was lovely to welcome some new faces. We really value the part that the PTA plays in the life of the school.
Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing all of the children again next week.
